I spent summers with my maternal matriarchs in mid-Missouri where my mom’s family is from. The Hummingbird Bitters remind me of Aunt Opal’s sugar cookies with almond icing. The name Hummingbird is paying tribute to my maternal grandmother, Millie. She has always adored them and keeps multiple gardens and feeders around the house.
