- 1 oz. Old Forester Rye Whisky
- 1 oz. Old Forester 100 Proof Bourbon
- 0.5 oz. Spiced Pear Shrub*
- 0.5 oz. Old Forester Oleo-Saccharum Syrup
- 0.5 oz. Lemon juice
- 1 dropper Old Forester Smoked Cinnamon Bitters
A bridge is built between Old Forester Bourbon and Old Forester Rye utilizing commonalities such as baking spice, orchard fruit, and citrus. A dimensional, balanced shrub cocktail is the result, which can be served warm or cold.
Combine all ingredients in a shaker tin, shake with ice. Double strain into glass over fresh ice. Garnish with grated nutmeg, rosemary, and dehydrated pear. *Spiced Pear Shrub- In a saucepan, combine 3 red pears (sliced, cored), 1 cinnamon stick, 6 whole cloves, 1-star anise, 1.5 cups apple cider vinegar, 1.5 cups water, 1.5 cups white granulated sugar, ½ a lemon, sliced, 2 cardamom pods. Bring to boil, reduce heat. Simmer 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool to room temperature. Strain, save liquid. Store in the refrigerator.
