*a coffee cube can be made to your personal taste based on how you normally enjoy your coffee with half the amount of sugar since we already have simple syrup in our cocktail.

Long IslandCreated By Tracy Johanna

1.5 oz Old Forester Rye
.75 oz Winter Spiced Syrup
3 dashes Angostura Bitters

Instructions: Stir all ingredients with ice, strain into a rocks glass, express a fresh orange twist around the rim of the glass and garnish with whole spices (if you have them). My syrup was made like a typical simple syrup: equal parts sugar and water, bring to a boil and lower heat to simmer. When simmering, toss in your choice of spices (I used whole cinnamon sticks lightly cracked, cloves, and star anise) and reduce to desired consistency.
